F.A.Q

Please do your due diligence before booking. It is ideal to educate yourself for your own peace of mind, but I am here for your support! So please don't hesitate to get in contact with any questions that may not be answered on my website.

IS IT SAFE?

Each procedure is done under strict sanitation and sterilization rules. For each new procedure I use sterile single-use, disposable needles and parts. All pigments used are  Animal cruelty free, Pharmaceutical, European Standard & FDA approved ingredients specifically for cosmetic use.

WHAT ARE THE PIGMENTS MADE OF?

Swiss Color© pigments are Iron Oxide free, they come in a variety of colors specially formulated & pharmaceutical  made , they are safe for the skin. Swiss Color© guarantees  that all their pigments are  made of high-purity raw materials. The pigments do not contain any preservatives to avoid allergies. Because color is implanted just underneath the dermal layer of the skin, the resulting shade is soft and muted, unlike regular cosmetic makeup that sits on the surface of the skin.

HOW LONG DOES COSMETIC TATTOOING LAST?

The treatment is permanent and will not wash off. However, it will fade over time and may need a retouch every 1- 2 years. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas. Touch-ups are normal for all cosmetic tattooing procedures, with each new procedure requiring at least 2 visits.

WHAT SHOULD I DO PRIOR TO MY PROCEDURE?

For eyeliner: Wear your regular glasses instead of your contact lenses. You should allow at least 3 hours for your initial procedure. If you remove facial hair around your lips by tweezing, shaving, threading, or waxing, that should be done a few days before your appointment. E lectrolysis or laser hair removal should be completed 5 to 7 days before. Taking an anti-viral medication is recommended, especially if you have a history of Chicken Pox or cold sores. not wear mascara (especially water-proof mascara, because this is more difficult to remove, and doing so will cause the eyes to be more irritated and sensitive).

For eyebrows: If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring reference photos and eyebrow pencil or powder. If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan this trip a minimum 10 days after the procedure. I request my clients avoid prescription blood thinners (if possible) for 48 hours prior to their appointment. This also includes Vitamin E, Aspirin and Alcohol.

For Lips: You should allow at least 3 hours for your initial procedure. If you remove facial hair around your lips by tweezing, shaving, threading, or waxing, that should be done a few days before your appointment. Electrolysis or laser hair removal should be completed 5 to 7 days before. You will need to take an anti-viral medication prior to treatment if you have a history of cold sores.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Very specific post-care instructions  are provided after your procedure. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a good healing process and to achieve the best results. The most essential aftercare is to keep applying the aftercare cream to the treated area, do not rub or pick as the color will peel off, and avoid extreme heat (like in saunas, Jacuzzis, steam rooms, places with hot humidity). For the lips, keep using the aftercare cream (as a regular lip balm) to make the color last longer.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE LONG TERM CARE?

A good sunscreen applied daily on tattooed area(s) is needed to help keep color true. Sun exposure will make the color fade faster.
You will need a touch-up every 1- 3 years. The fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, and if any chemical peels were done after cosmetic tattooing. If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had an cosmetic tattooing. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area. If you are planning to have laser treatments, tell your laser specialist to avoid the pigmented area. Laser may cause pigment to turn black.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE FIRST APPOINTMENT?

It's an extremely meticulous 2 part process that takes around two hours to complete. The first part of the process is a consultation. This is normally done as part of your initial treatment. I will talk with you in detail about the look you are trying to achieve and what I might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. I listen, I respond, I advise.

The first hour I will take before/after photos, take measurements of your face, then draw the shape with removable pencil and we will choose your pigment color! I will customize a shape for every client, that is best suitable for them. Though our faces are NOT perfectly symmetrical (one side is usually flatter than the other), As I like to say "BROWS ARE SISTERS, NOT TWINS" But I do my very best to create as much symmetry as possible! I will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with the pre-draw.

HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT COSMETIC TATTOO ARTIST?

It is so important to have a skilled cosmetic tattoo artist perform these procedures otherwise you may end up with a permanent mistake! The time and expense related with repairing poor quality work are simply not worth it. Find an experienced technician. Have a consultation first: Is the place clean and safe? Are the needles and accessories disposable? Is the artist well presented? Look at non-decorated pictures of the artists work, check out their healed work, and make sure you actually like the work shown in their before & after photos. Have a good look through their reviews & testimonials as well!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS COSMETIC TATTOOING?

Cosmetic Tattooing is the process of implanting coloured pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle to produce the appearance of cosmetic makeup.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COSMETIC TATTOOING & BODY TATTOOING?

The purpose of cosmetic tattooing procedures is to enhance the clients’ features, not necessarily create artwork that stands out (such as body tattoos). Cosmetic tattooing is softer and more subtle – it is meant to be a natural looking beauty enhancement. Body tattoos use ink, cosmetic tattooing procedures involve pigments designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows me to make changes to colour and shape over the years as client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.

DOES IT HURT?

A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream is  used for numbing before and during your procedure, also an adrenalin based topical anaesthetic is used to shut down the blood vessels to help aid any bleeding. Pain is relative when getting a tattoo.. but pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure.

CAN I BRING SOMEONE ALONG TO MY APPOINTMENT?

I ask that my clients come alone. Due to safety reasons, children are not permitted in the treatment room at all times. My focus should be on you, and you only.
