TEETH WHITENING

MAKE A WHITE SMILE YOUR SIGNATURE ACCESSORY!

Now introducing...

The BEYOND II ULTRA with ULTRASONIC Whitening Technology.

Power Whitens Teeth Better and Faster than any previous technology! You can be assured that you will be taken care of by an NZCTWA registered aesthetician, who will make sure you leave the studio with whiter teeth than when you walked in.

If you imagine the clear enamel of a tooth being a window through which we see the ivory /white dentin cosmetic teeth whitening cleans the stained window so the natural ivory / white colour of the dentin is revealed. Dentin is what gives your teeth their natural colour.

Tooth colour is influenced by a combination of organic and inorganic stains found on the surface and inside the teeth (intrinsic and extrinsic stains). These discolouration can be the result of several factors, including diet (drinking coffee, tea, or red wine), lifestyle choices (smoking), age, or exposure to certain medications (such as tetracycline or fluoride).

During the 90-minute triple treatment, the combination of a 6% hydrogen peroxide whitening gel and intense, blue light source oxides rapidly the organic discolorations found on the surface and inside the teeth, rendering those stains neutral in colour and resulting in a brighter appearance. At the same time, the gel formula gently polishes the surface of teeth. The result is a white, shiny smile with years of stains from food, drinks, and cigarettes erased after one, hour-long treatment.

Post Treatment:

Following the whitening procedure, the teeth become more porous and therefore they absorb more of the pigment to which they are exposed. This means that it is critical to avoid coloured foods that may stain your newly whitened teeth.

For the following 24 hours After Treatment you must:

  • Avoid any dark staining drinks like Tea, Coffee, Red Wine, coloured soft or alcoholic drinks and fruit juice.

  • Avoid all dark staining foods like bolognese, soy sauce, red meat, chocolate and all fruit except bananas.

  • Avoid any foods or drinks that would leave a stain on a white shirt.

  • No Smoking for 24 hours, smoking a cigarette within the first 24 Hours will stain your teeth

  • Avoid coloured toothpaste (red or blue) or Mouthwash for 24 hours.

  • Be careful with hot and cold food and drinks. These won’t necessarily stain your teeth but they may be sensitive for a day or two.

FAQ's

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Teeth whitening is the process of breaking apart chemical bonds in the organic and inorganic stain-causing compounds through the application of a 12% hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel to the teeth.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

The treatment is 1 hour + consultation & setup, allow 1hr 30 mins.

IS IT SAFE?

Yes, scientific research has shown that the active ingredients in the BEYOND™ Teeth Whitening Gel are effective and safe for cosmetic tooth whitening. The dental community has used these ingredients in performing teeth whitening for many years. Our new gentle Teeth Whitening Gel does not change or damage the structure of the teeth. In fact, in a recent clinical study it was proven to be Safer than Orange Juice.

IS THE TEETH WHITENING TREATMENT FOR EVERYONE?

As scientific tests have not yet been carried out it is advised that pregnant women or clients under 16 should not receive any teeth whitening treatment.

CAN YOU WHITEN CROWNS, IMPLANTS AND VENEERS?

Unfortunately, no teeth whitening product (professional or over-the-counter) will whiten veneers, fillings, or crowns. The good news is that you can still whiten your teeth if you have veneers and crowns. Whitening gels will not damage these dental restorations at all. However, you have to remember that teeth with restorations will not change in whiteness.

HOW WHITE WILL MY TEETH GET?

Although individual results will depend on how discoloured the teeth were originally, there will be noticeable improvement for everyone, and teeth will be white and shiny. Teeth shades can brighten between 4-14 shades with an average improvement of 2-8 shades on the Vita Teeth Whitening Shade Guide.

DOES TEETH WHITENING HURT?

It can cause sensitivity to the teeth and gums, but most clients experience no pain or sensitivity during or after the treatment. If you suffer from sensitivity we recommend that you use sensitive toothpaste for 2 weeks prior to your treatment. A very rare percentage of clients may feel some very minor tooth sensitivity especially if they consume very hot or very cold food or drinks within a few hours after the treatment; this is normal and transitory and passes within 3-4 hours.

Therefore, it is recommended that clients refrain from consuming extremely hot or cold food or beverages for the first 24 hours following the treatment.

SHOULD I BRUSH MY TEETH PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT?

Brushing right before the whitening procedure is NOT recommended as it can cause the microscopic 'pores' in the teeth enamel to become blocked with 'fillers' resulting in inferior results. Last brush should be at least 2 hours before.

SCALING & POLISHING

Scaling & polishing can produce some gum recession and/or detachment of the gum attachment fibres, which can expose the dentin at a tooth's base. Also normal healthy teeth can become transiently more sensitive than usual because it usually removes the shielding pellicle layer coating from the tooth enamel. Therefore, if you are having dentist scale & polish your teeth, we ask that you wait 14 days for your gums to come back and the pellicle layer to regrow before your whitening procedure.

IS TEETH WHITENING CLASSIFIED AS DENTISTRY?

No. Teeth whitening is classified as a cosmetic treatment, not a dental one.
